Senior Project Manager - #2012-SPMA
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Project Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the complete execution and management of building construction projects, and will:
- Manage and coordinate the human and logistical resources for the project in cooperation with the Project Director, Logistics Director and Superintendent;
- Plan and control construction costs;
- Prepare schedules and monitor/update them as the work progresses;
- Negotiate and award subcontracts;
- Follow up on shop drawings and manage Change Notices;
- Coordinate site meetings;
- Establish and maintain the necessary communication with the subcontractors, professionals and client;
- Perform all other tasks related to managing a construction project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering;
- 8 to 15 years experience in managing construction projects;
- Strong management, negotiating, communication and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated initiative and leadership abilities;
- Wiling to travel to remote areas (Atlantic Canada);
- In-depth knowledge of MS Office and MS Project.
