The Cornwall Community Hospital, currently operating from 2 separate locations, is undergoing major construction work in order to centralize its activities under one roof. The scope of work involves:
-
Building a new main electrical room, including the replacement of 2 generators and electrical substation;
-
Constructing an 8,826 m² two-storey addition, which will house 5 new operating rooms;
-
Upgrading the Emergency and relocating all the diagnotics equipment such as MRI and X-Ray machines to this area;
-
Renovating 7,246 m² of the existing building, on several levels;
-
Addition of new exterior parking and relocation of the waterworks and sewer systems.
This sensitive environment requires that rigourous dust and infection control measures be put in place during the work. The Cornwall Community Hospital employs a staff of over 1,000 employees and has 170 beds at its disposal. To ensure the success of this complex project, Pomerleau must maintain excellent collaboration and tight coordination with the hospital's representative.
