Pomerleau is aware of the impact construction activities have on the environment and of the relevance of a green approach for the community and the users of its built facilities. The company therefore chooses to offer its clients the possibility of adding significant value to their project by adopting construction methods and processes that ensure sustainability and high performance.
A large number of Pomerleau employees have received their LEED® Accredited Professional designation from the Canada Green Building Council. The company obtained LEED® Silver Certification from the US Green Building Council for the Biological Sciences Pavilion in the Pierre-Dansereau Sciences Complex of the Université du Québec à Montreal. Several other projects designed to meet LEED® Silver or Gold requirements have been completed or are under construction.
Pomerleau ranks among the first general contractors to join the Canada Green Building Council in 2005. The company has provided, through its Training Centre, an employee education and awareness program on green methods and so far, nearly 100 employees have already completed this program. Pomerleau is therefore well positioned to satisfy LEED® certification construction requirements.
