With some twenty-five projects worth over $350 million, Pomerleau possesses solid experience in different types of research centres. Some of its institutional and industrial projects also include laboratories and class 10 to 100,000 clean rooms.
Pomerleau is using its expertise as a Project and Construction manager, in the restoration and expansion of Quebec City's scientific complex.
The McGill Life Sciences Complex is composed of four buildings. The Francesco Bellini (16,770 m2) and cancer research buildings were built as the hub between the Faculty of Medicine's McIntyre Building and the Science Faculty's Stewart Building.
During construction of this Pavilion, on what was a section of the Abitibi-Price pavilion's parking lot, the rest of the lot and the surrounding streets remained open. This necessitated careful planning of logistics and traffic control and particular attention to safety. Snow removal was also a challenge on this tight site.
