The second Annual Canada BIM Council Awards gala will be held in Toronto on October 5, 2016 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. At this event, projects highlighting the use of BIM will be recognized. And Pomerleau is pleased to announce that the AMT - Pointe-Saint-Charles Maintenance Centre project has been nominated for the General Contractors Award.
BIM & VDC use at the AMT site aims at optimizing design and construction, better quality of the final product, and an accurate as-built model and operations database for the client. Other than mainstream BIM uses, the project benefits from specific plugins for civil works modeling, and from point-cloud data integration and drone-captured models for site logistics management and job tracking. SmartUse and centralized models accessible for all stakeholders allow for enhanced collaboration, time and cost savings.
Pomerleau won two awards in this contest in 2015: the Innovation Award and Best in BIM Award and we hope to bring home another trophy this year!
