This year, Pomerleau was proud to sponsor a $1,000 scholarship offered by the Ordre des technologues professionnels du Québec (OTPQ) (Quebec Order of Professional Technologists), given to a student studying in the construction field. The Pomerleau scholarship was awarded to Tomy Simard, a student in Estimation Technology and Building Evaluation who is specializing in construction estimation at Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy (CNDF), a private college in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, QC offering pre-university programs as well as a number of technical and professional programs.
Said Myriam Gallant, coordinator of the department at CNDF, "Our scholarship winner is only in the second semester of his academic journey and already he stands out because of his resourcefulness, the seriousness with which he takes his work, his ability to express himself and his passion for the field."
Pomerleau warmly congratulates Mr. Simard. "Pomerleau has always valued academic success as it enables the province's future generations to excel. As such, we are proud to encourage today's youth by offering a scholarship to technology students," said Carolyne Van Der Meer, Pomerleau spokesperson in a recent statement.
The OTPQ annually awards nearly $15,000 in scholarships to its affiliated students to promote technology careers and the quality of the training provided in colleges.
