BIM for Sustainable Development on construction sites

On January 20, 2015, an interview with Pomerleau Project Manager Louis-Philip Bolduc was published in the Quebec Construction Association publication, Construire, about the benefits of BIM (Building Information Modeling) on the Place Bell construction site, among others.

Mr. Bolduc, also President of the Canada Green Building Council's Quebec chapter and a trainer at Université Laval's sustainable development training centre, explains that using this innovative approach from the design phase onward can greatly reduce the risk of errors. Indeed, the use of BIM technology allows a significant reduction of material waste and reduces resource requirements through the use of a 3-D model prior to construction.

Pomerleau has been using this high-performance approach for some time and a full in-house team is dedicated to it.
