Pomerleau is transforming and enlarging the St. Denys Church in Quebec City to accommodate the Monique-Corriveau Library, which has been waiting to move into these premises for more than a decade. A new structure will be erected inside the church in order to add a floor, and the other floors will be enlarged, including the basement. Because of its historic nature, the pointed and concave roof will remain in place.
The new library will have a surface area of 4,550 m2 spread over three floors, where the books will be housed. In addition, there will be several reading rooms and computer and meeting rooms, as well as offices. With its opening planned for summer 2013, the library will offer warm, modern spaces with areas for youth and for new technology.
