The construction management of the future amphitheatre, so eagerly awaited by Québec City area residents, has been entrusted to Pomerleau, which will ensure that the schedules, budgets and quality requirements are respected.
Pomerleau was awarded this prestigious contract after having obtained the highest score in the call for tenders for the quality of its team, its understanding of the mandate, execution process, expertise in arena construction, and solid experience in construction management.
With a value of $400 M, the 18,000-seat amphitheatre is being built on the grounds of the Hippodrome de Québec (Québec City racetrack) on the Expo Cité site from now until the fall of 2015. At almost 65,000 m², it will be comparable in size to the Consol Energy Centre in Pittsburgh.
"We are proud to contribute to carrying out this complex project that will undoubtedly become a major icon for Quebec City. Our team is putting everything in place to ensure an excellent performance and, as always, to achieve the expected results," stated Pomerleau's President and CEO, Pierre Pomerleau.
